N.F. first impressed music lovers when the high school student competed at the 2008 Fine Arts Festival and placed 1st in the Rap category for the state of Michigan and placed 2nd nationwide in 2009. He also possesses the rare talent of freestyling--- when rap lyrics are improvised a cappella or with instrumental beats, i.e. performed with no previously composed lyrics, or "off the top of the head". His lyrics, often inspired from a not so happy childhood, are based on understanding life's challenges, struggles and solutions rooted in Jesus Christ and scripture.
